Early July, The Pirate Bay was compromised by an Argentinian hacker, with the nickname Ch Russó. The site went down a few days later for maintenance. Although the main purpose of the downtime wasn’t patching the security holes, the operators were working on solving those issues as well. Apparently they were upgrading the 6-year old database handling, and since then the site has been extremely unstable.

On the SuprBay forums there have been several reports of different issues, ranging from password recovery to torrent uploads. I’ve experienced some of these myself, and for that reason I’ve decided to delay the uploads for the time being. At one point, the database was rolled back, losing several days worth of torrents. I don’t want this happening to my uploads (fortunately the last torrents I uploaded were backed up), so I’ll just keep making new torrents but instead upload them later. I already have a new torrent that is ready for upload, and I’m in the making of more.

I’m doing this to prevent confusion and possibly re-uploads, and I hope you understand. I’ll upload them as soon as The Pirate Bay is back and running as usual.

Hey guys!

As you may or may not have noticed, our website has been down for a little over a week. My previous web host suddenly shut down without any warning, which means I had to find a new one. I got an incredible deal and signed up for the same type of package that I had last time, which should mean a fast server with huge capacity. This is server is based in the U.S., as oppose to the previous one in the U.K. I’ve spent these last couple of hours re-uploading the files on the new server; fortunately I got most of my files backed up from the previous one. Also, I got a complete backup of the SQL database, which means that if you ever signed up on the forums or the blog, your user will still be there.
The only thing missing from the website now is the forum files, which are being uploaded as we speak. I expect to have it back within 24 hours.

As soon as the website is 100% back to normal, I will set my focus on more The Big Bang Theory episodes. I’ve been busy with some other projects in personal life as well, and expect to be done with that in just a couple of days.

It’s officially summer holidays, and I’ve gotten back into making more The Big Bang Theory torrents with Norwegian subtitles. Unfortunately I haven’t gotten as much spare time as I hoped I would, which means I’m a little behind schedule. But my goal for now is to complete the subtitling of the first season of The Big Bang Theory before the holidays are up.

Hey everyone!

It certainly has been some time since my last torrent, and in this post I’ll explain why. Unfortunately, almost everything I feared in the previous blog post became reality. I didn’t get a chance to upload a single torrent in May due to all-day tests. In June, I was also one of the very few unlucky people who had to take an exam. I got the results the other day and found out I scored an A on my English test. Therefore I decided to celebrate by releasing an early The Big Bang Theory torrent that wasn’t supposed to be uploaded until next week.

Release plans for June/July will be published soon, stay tuned and enjoy.

April has been a very good month, upload-wise. I’ve uploaded three torrents, the highest amount of torrents in a single month so far in 2010. Unfortunately, things are not gonna stay the same in May. I will be busy on nearly every weekend and there are no way I’ll have time to make new torrents, which requires many hours of work. I also have several all-day tests (and possibly exams) I have to study for. So instead, I’ve decided to move my focus away from new torrents for a while and instead focus on the things that are not yet done on the website, and it sure is a lot! I started looking on the source code for the first time in a while last weekend, and I made a couple of improvements. Since I won’t be able to make new torrents, I’ve decided to spend my very limited time on improving the website and implementing new features.

Towards the end of May I might get a little extra time, if it turns out to be enough, I’d be happy to make another The Big Bang Theory torrent. I’m not exactly sure how the schedule will look in June, but the summer holidays are starting on the second last week and I highly doubt I will have much to do during the weeks before that. After my holidays have started I will have plenty of time to make new torrents, and my goal will probably be something like making two torrents every week.

One more thing, on a completely unrelated note: I’ve just added a new page to our website, the link page, which you can find a link to in the website footer. If you want your link on the list, send an email with your link exchange request. We are now also open to advertising outside of AdBrite; you can read more about it on our contact page.

Here’s yet another episode of The Big Bang Theory with Norwegian subtitles.

This is actually the third episode of The Big Bang Theory I’ve uploaded in April, despite being unable to make any new torrents due to software issues. So far in 2010, I have uploaded two episodes every month (wasn’t planning on making it two, it just turned out like that), but this might be the ideal month to release one extra. I will be very busy on weekends in May, and I would be very fortunate if I get time to make subtitles for another episode.

I also suddenly realized there are only six episodes left of the first season, which means I’m well over half done with this season. Don’t worry though; I will immediately continue with the second one after that.

Oh well, enjoy the ninth episode of the first season of my favorite TV-show.

Back in March, I promised a new Big Bang Theory torrent straight after I released the Optical Flares torrent. However, my computer got really sluggish and the only solution was a complete reformatting. I then had to install all the software again, which took quite some time. Codec incompatibilities didn’t make things better, and I spent the rest of my holidays trying to figure out the problem. I finally managed to pinpoint the problem, and got it fixed. I was hoping to be able to release the torrent the weekend after, but apparently The Pirate Bay had some issues with their mail server, which made me unable to log on. Thankfully, I know some of the admins who sorted out the issue for my account, other users are still struggling despite this being a problem since the beginning of April.

I finally released the torrent, on a slightly different time than what I’ve been used to. I’m not impressed by the seeding so far, many people have downloaded the torrent but as of right now, there are only 4 seeds and 4 peers and still no comments. I was actually hoping I could start subtitling the 8th episode today, but after seeing such lousy statistics I really don’t feel like it. We’ll see later towards the end of this week.

The plan was to release several new The Big Bang Theory torrents during the easter holidays, but because I decided to reformat my computer, I haven’t been able to do anything so far. I’m having some troubles getting the software to work on my newly formatted computer, but hopefully I’ll sort it out soon enough. In the meantime, I’ve decided to work some more on the website. I’m specifically working on a feature I’m very excited about, and I definitely look forward to presenting it.

Here’s a new software torrent: Optical Flares, a plugin for Adobe After Effects, is now available for download at The Pirate Bay.

The torrent was originally compiled by ImmortalNeo at Demonoid. I’m hoping everyone who download this eventually buy the product from Video Copilot. Andrew does a great job, releasing tutorials and project files for free. He definitely deserves it.
